New forms of care and IT architectures

Foto IT-Architekturen

Here, basic conditions for new forms of care using new assistive technologies shall be analyzed and improved. In particular, architectures for sensor-enhanced transinstitutional information systems are analyzed and approaches are being developed. Beside the technical aspects, necessary organizational ("information management") and legal prerequisites will be worked out.

Based on the research outcomes of the first three years of GAL, in the project years 4 and 5 concrete scenarios of care will be explored in the "prolective observational study on the use of assistive technologies for assessing risk profiles of patients with prior fracture of the femoral neck" (NATARS-study).

In addition, the taxonomy for sensor-enhanced transinstitutional IT-architectures, developed during the first three years of GAL will be further elaborated.

Mainly (but not exclusively) researchers of the following institutions are involved: Department of Geriatrics St. Bonifatius Hospital Lingen, Center of Geriatrics Oldenburg, OFFIS, and Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics of TU Braunschweig and Hannover Medical School.
